Performers

INCA

11:30 AM – 12:15 PM  INCA, The Peruvian Ensemble

INCA brings the magic of traditional and ancient music and songs from Peru to audiences of all ages. Playing rare and authentic instruments, the musicians carry their audience back to the lost empire of the Incas. The audience will have an opportunity to participate in an Afro-Peruvian competitive dance, as well as sing a mestizo song from the central mountains.

The Alley Cats

1:30 PM – 2:15 PM  The Alley Cats

The Alley Cats are one of America’s premier doo-wop groups known for their tight harmonies, humor, and dynamic a cappella energy. By bringing their own contemporary style to the tunes from the 50s and 60s, The Alley Cats present a fun, interactive, and informative show. The audience will learn about the unique American musical form called doo-wop.

Cultural Workshop

Pre-Incan Bird Textiles (11 AM – 2 PM)
Participants will explore fun textiles that provide wonderful connections to Peruvian culture and ecology such as the marine birds at the beach. They will use pieces of felt and other materials to create images inspired by Pre-Incan and Incan textiles.
