LAUNCH RAMP IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors is improving the public Boat Launch Ramp Facility located at 13477 Fiji Way in Marina del Rey. These upgrades are designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall user experience while ensuring the facility continues to serve the boating community for years to come.
Construction is anticipated to start at the beginning of Fall 2026 and finish in Summer 2027.
The project includes the replacement of the existing aging dock system and the construction of a new accessible queuing dock adjacent to the launch ramps. The new docks will be built within the existing facility footprint and designed to meet current County marina construction standards and the latest Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements for public marina facilities.
In addition to the dock improvements, the project will enhance the surrounding landside facilities. Planned upgrades include the installation of Low Impact Development stormwater management features to improve water quality, as well as slurry sealing and restriping of the parking lot. These improvements will provide accessible parking spaces and improve circulation throughout the site.
Once completed, the project will deliver a modernized, more accessible, and environmentally responsible facility that better serves residents, visitors, and recreational boaters while supporting continued public access to Marina del Rey’s waterfront.
