Project Scope: The proposed project would include renovation of an existing 1,320 square foot restroom and a vacant office building, upgrades to the boat storage area to increase storage capacity, modifications to the existing walkway along the facility’s perimeter adjacent to Palawan Way. The project also encompasses stormwater capture and filtration systems to advance water quality improvement goals for the Marina. Bike racks, seat walls, designated scooter parking, a new lengthened ADA ramp and ADA mat for accessible water access, and a new water bottle refill station and picnic table would also be installed at the site. In addition, part of a fence adjacent to a neighboring pocket park would be removed to provide better pedestrian connectivity between the two areas.

Project scope: The Avenue A beach access ramp will undergo a complete transformation to ensure safe, equitable, and environmentally conscious access for all visitors. This project will replace the deteriorated walkway with a modern, ADA-compliant structure designed to meet the needs of all beachgoers.
The new design will include:
- ADA-compliant ramp access with handrails
- Spacious landings for rest and stability
- Durable materials to withstand coastal conditions
- Stairway access to enhance connectivity

The project will transform the existing dirt lot into a 66-stall asphalt paved parking lot. Included in the improvements are a pay-and-display pay station and landscaping improvements.
The landscape buffer between Pacific Coast Highway and the paved parking lot will function as a biofiltration water treatment system. The water run-off from the parking lot will flow into the biofiltration system and will be filtered through the plant and soil media prior to percolating into the soil.
The White Point Park Site Improvements Project will be the park’s first complete site renovation since it opened nearly 30 years ago. The $3.5 million project will update park features and create an accessible park with open views to the Pacific Ocean for everyone to enjoy.
The renovation includes:
- Loop trail with California native and drought-tolerant plants
- Pirate-themed accessible play area with equipment for children ages 2 – 12
- New fitness equipment
- Combination drinking fountain and water bottle refill station with doggie dish
