BEACH AND PUBLIC FACILITIES STATUS

To slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect the public and our employees, the Department of Beaches and Harbors (DBH) has closed some facilities to the public until further notice. A list of facility closures for all Los Angeles County departments is available online at lacounty.gov/covid19/closures.

Beaches and Beach Facilities

OPEN

Beaches—All Los Angeles County beaches are open with restrictions in place. (More information.) If you have questions, please call 424-526-7777 or email info@bh.lacounty.gov.

Beach Parking Lots—Beach parking lots are open. Check parking lot status.

Beach Amenities—Most beach amenities, including restrooms, showers and volleyball courts, are open.

Dockweiler RV Park—The RV park is open at 50 percent capacity. For more information, call (310) 322-4951 or email Reservations_RVPark@bh.lacounty.gov.

Marvin Braude Bike Trail (Beach Bike Path)—The Marvin Braude Bike Trail, also known as the beach bike path, is currently open.

White Point Playground—The playground at White Point Beach is open.

CLOSED

Dockweiler Youth Center—The Youth Center is closed to the public. All meetings and other gatherings are canceled until further notice. Staff members are available to respond to concerns/questions. Call 310-726-4131 or email syinger@bh.lacounty.gov.

Fire Pits at Dockweiler State Beach—All fire pits at Dockweiler Beach have been removed until further notice.

Marina del Rey Offices and Facilities

OPEN

Boat Launch—The boat launch at 13477 Fiji Way is open as long as members of the public who use it practice safe physical distancing by staying at least 6 feet apart.

Marina “Mother’s” Beach—The beach and playground are open, but the following amenities remain CLOSED until further notice:

  • Picnic Tables & Shelters
  • BBQ Grills

Burton W. Chace Park—The park is open to members of the public, as long as visitors abide by the Health Officer’s order prohibiting group gatherings of any size. Visitors must also practice safe physical distancing by staying at least 6 feet apart.

Burton Chace Park Community Room and Boathouse in Marina del Rey—The BCP Community Room and Boathouse are closed to the public. All meetings and other gatherings are canceled until further notice. Staff is onsite to rent boater transient docks, take facility reservations 90-days out, respond to concerns/questions. Call 424-526-7910 or email ChacePark@bh.lacounty.gov.

Marina “Mother’s” Beach—The beach and playground are open for recreational use. The following amenities  remain CLOSED until further notice:

  • Picnic Tables & Shelters
  • BBQ Grills

Marina del Rey Visitor Center—The Visitor Center is closed to the public until further notice. Staff is available to provide information and assistance to visitors and other members of the public. Call 424-526-7900 or email info@visitmarinadelrey.com.

Department Administrative Offices—The Department of Beaches and Harbors’ administration building in the Marina is closed to the public until further notice. Staff is onsite to conduct business, respond to customer questions and concerns, and perform other operational functions. Call 424-526-7728 or email msherwood@bh.lacounty.gov.

  • Annual Senior Parking Pass applications are only accepted via postal mail. More information.

Boating Section—Boating Section offices are closed to public access until further notice. Staff is onsite to conduct business, respond to customer questions and concerns and for code enforcement. Call 424-526-7890 or email boating@bh.lacounty.gov for assistance.

Financial Services Section—The Financial Services building in the Marina is closed to the public.  Boat slip and other monthly rent payments can be dropped in the mail slot at the front of the building.  Staff is on site to respond to concerns and questions. Call 424-526-7792

Permit Section—The Permit Section office in the Marina is closed to public access until further notice. Staff is onsite to conduct business, respond to customer questions and concerns. For information on beach use permits, call 424-526-7880 or visit Permits and Licenses.
