MDR Summer Concert (MDR Symphony) August 10

Join us for an exciting evening of popular cinema soundtracks played LIVE by the Marina del Rey Symphony accompanied by a live chorus.

Led by Maestro Steven Allen Fox, this free concert features the SoCAL Chorale directed by Marya Basaraba and music from popular films such as:

  • Lion King
  • Star Wars
  • Conan the Barbarian
  • Avatar: The Way of Water
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Edward Scissorhands
  • Independence Day
  • and the choral finale to Beethoven’s 9th Symphony

ABOUT THE CONDUCTOR:

Steven Allen Fox is the Music Director-Conductor of the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, leading our “Best of the Westside” summer concerts at Burton Chace Park. Fox has an extensive background in conducting and composing for a wide range of musical styles including film scores and pop music. He is the founding Artistic Director/ Conductor of the Golden State Pops Orchestra and made his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut conducting the inaugural performance of the Los Angeles Film Orchestra. He has also conducted the San Francisco Symphony, City of Prague Philharmonic and Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife.
