Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2024 in Marina del Rey with a Glow Party & Fireworks Show! 

*STREET CLOSURES:

  • 7 pm – 12:30 am:  Mindanao Way (westbound) closed (including from NB Admiralty’s left-turn lane)
  • 8:30 pm + 1 am:  No Left Turn @ Fiji Way onto NB Admiralty

In addition, the Waterside Shopping Center driveway on Mindanao Way, near Ralphs, will be temporarily closed at 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. for up to one hour to alleviate vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.  All other driveways at the shopping center will not be impacted.

What time does the fireworks show start and how long will it last?
In celebration of New Year’s Eve, there will be two 10-minute fireworks displays: 8:59 PM (East Coast) & 11:59 PM (West Coast).
Where are the best viewing spots in Marina del Rey to see the show?

The fireworks will be shot from the south jetty in Marina del Rey. You can view the show from nearly anywhere in Marina del Rey.

Where can I park in Marina del Rey?

Visit the MDR NYE Parking page, which lists the public parking lot locations, holiday rates, and hours.
Fisherman’s Village and Lot 2 are prime parking for the NYE fireworks event. Plan to arrive to the Marina early, as the lots fill up quickly.  Many spectators arrive early in the morning on NYE and stay until after the fireworks show.
NOTE: Burton Chace Park’s 90-minute parking lot will not be available for event parking.

How much are the parking rates?

Visit the MDR NYE Parking page, which lists the public parking lot locations, holiday rates, and hours.
Holiday parking rates apply on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, ranging between $11 – $20.

How will traffic be at the event?

Due to the popularity of this event, expect heavy traffic delays on the roads surrounding the Marina del Rey area.

Will there be street closures in Marina del Rey?

Yes, below are the planned street closures in Marina del Rey for New Year’s Eve:

7:00 PM –12:30 PM 
Mindanao Way (westbound) closed (including from NB Admiralty’s left-turn lane)

8:30 PM and 1:00 AM
No Left Turn @ Fiji Way onto NB Admiralty

How do I get around Marina del Rey?

Alternate Transportation on NYE:

  • The Marvin Braude Coastal Bike Trail is a 22-mile paved bicycle path that runs along the Los Angeles County coastline, from Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades to Torrance County Beach in Torrance. The bike trail runs through Marina del Rey from Dockweiler State Beach to Washington Boulevard near Venice Beach.
  • Rideshare:  Passengers using rideshare services, such as Lyft or Uber, should expect extended delays in service times due to heavy traffic and scheduled road closures in Marina del Rey on NYE.
    Rideshare drivers are cautioned against illegally stopping or parking to pick-up/drop-off passengers, as it poses a safety risk to both parties, as well as to other motorists and pedestrians.  Due to street closures, the pick-up/drop-off of passengers may need to take place beyond the Marina’s immediate boundaries.

Can I take a rideshare service to/from the event?

Will food be available at the event?
