What time does the fireworks show start and how long will it last?
Where are the best viewing spots in Marina del Rey to see the show?
The fireworks will be shot from a barge on the waters of the Main Channel in Marina del Rey. You can view the show from nearly anywhere in Marina del Rey and surrounding areas such as the Venice Pier, Playa Vista, and Dockweiler Beach.

How will traffic be at the event?
Due to the popularity of the July 4th Fireworks Show, expect heavy traffic delays on the roads surrounding the Marina del Rey area, especially just before and immediately after the fireworks show (9:00 PM – 9:20 PM).

Will there be street closures in and around Marina del Rey?
Yes, there will be a number of street closures (click here for the full list of street closures) in and around Marina del Rey on July 4th. Street closures will start as early as 1:00 p.m. and will continue throughout the day.
NOTE: The times and locations of street closures are subject to change at any time due to traffic conditions.
How do I get around Marina del Rey?
Alternate Transportation on July 4th:
- The Marina del Rey WaterBus will cruise through the Marina 11:00 am – 11:00 pm offering the opportunity to shop, dine, and recreate. Bikes and strollers are welcome aboard. Fare is $1.00 per person, one way.
- The Free Beach Shuttle service operating 10:00 am – 8:00 pm will provide transportation to major points of interest such as Fisherman’s Village, Waterside Shopping Center, Marina “Mother’s” Beach, and the Venice Beach Pier.
- Circuit shuttles offer on-demand transportation around the Marina 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Cost is $3 per person ($9 max) for up to five passengers. Download the Ride Circuit app (iOS or Android) to schedule a pick-up. Allow 10-15 minutes for pick-up. However, wait time could be a bit longer on July 4th.
- The Marvin Braude Coastal Bike Trail is a 22-mile paved bicycle path that runs along the Los Angeles County coastline, from Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades to Torrance County Beach in Torrance. The bike trail runs through Marina del Rey from Dockweiler State Beach to Washington Boulevard near Venice Beach. NOTE: A stretch of the Marvin Braude Coastal Bike Trail — from the UCLA Marina Aquatics Center to the southside of the La Ballona Bridge — will be closed 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm.
- Rideshare: Passengers using rideshare services, such as Lyft or Uber, should expect extended delays in service times due to heavy traffic and scheduled road closures in Marina del Rey on July 4th.
- Rideshare drivers are cautioned against illegally stopping or parking to pick-up/drop-off passengers, as it poses a safety risk to both parties, as well as to other motorists and pedestrians. Due to street closures, the pick-up/drop-off of passengers may need to take place beyond the Marina’s immediate boundaries.
How will Marina del Rey residents and hotel guests have access through the street closures?
Residents with a valid I.D. card, bill, or vehicle registration showing proof of residence, and hotel guests with valid hotel key cards, will be allowed through road closures – with the following exceptions*:

8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. NO ENTRY on Lincoln Blvd. from Jefferson Blvd. to Washington Blvd.
8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. NO ENTRY on Admiralty Way from Palawan Way to Fiji Way.

If you prefer to bring your own food for a picnic or barbecue, a limited number of public picnic tables and grills are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at Burton Chace Park and Marina “Mother’s” Beach.
